CAMHS, Newham

The new CAHMS unit is, we believe, an exemplar of its type. The facility has been designed to fit the needs of the service; the entire process of design was developed around the model of care of delivery and how a building should encourage staff and young people to behave in ways which maximizes engagement, in a secure and safe environment. 

The unit includes facilities for 12 long stay patients, a 3 person intensive care unit, educational facilities, a series of day spaces an assisted daily living kitchen and a small gym, together with staff support areas.

The feedback has been universally positive, including the design and build quality.
